OUR MISSION: The mission of SFW is to promote the protection and enhancement of wildlife habitat, assist in providing quality wildlife management programs, educating the public about the role hunters play in wildlife conservation, and perpetuating the family tradition of hunting and fishing
SFW is a team of nearly 8,000 members who are extremely passionate about wildlife and hunting. This membership of active Sportsmen has unified as they are intensely dedicated to the future of our habitat in Utah and the wildlife that depends on it.
SFW members raise millions of dollars each year through chapter banquets, tag auctions and other fundraising efforts. These conservation funding is not the only thing that SFW puts on the ground. SFW members also show up with gloves, shovels, machinery and other materials volunteering time and resources to make a measurable difference for wildlife. Often these dollars are used as the required matching dollars to acquire national grant/PR money which moves the work forward at the necessary pace.
Over the last couple of decades millions of acres of public land in Utah have been rehabilitated with these conservation funds and manpower. Thousands of acres of critical deer and elk winter habitat have been treated with chaining, burning and re-seeding. SFW funds play a major role in this continued effort.
